The persistent issue of high CPU load in Magento versions 2.3.0 to 2.4.5-p4 is tied to a query associated with the search_term cache. This crucial yet troublesome feature, introduced in version 2.3.0, burdens the database when executed repeatedly, causing slow queries especially on platforms with abundant search terms. The DISTINCT operator in the query significantly contributes to these performance issues. Its elimination, however, presents a considerable decrease in query time and CPU load, but the problem requires further solutions. Future steps should consider indexing the search_query table, utilizing elastic-search, and refining the problematic query. The aim is to build a more robust, user-friendly Magento, free of performance issues.
